Job Description

Position is for a 700+ Luxury Multifamily Apartment Community located in Chatsworth, California that is currently under construction. This person will need to have large Luxury Multifamily Apartment Community experience and will be responsible for all maintenance aspects of the community operations and to promptly and professionally complete any general maintenance including but not limited to service requests, apartment turns, maintaining the entire community asset and providing a “Carefree Home” environment for the residents.

This position reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Must live within 30 – 45 minutes from community for on-call purposes.

Responsibilities of Service Technician are outlined as:

· Completes assigned maintenance tasks with minimal supervision and / or requests assistance if needed

· Assists with all maintenance functions and inventory control

· Available to work weekends

· Respond to service requests during working hours

· Inventory Control

· Have their own tools

· Punctual

· Positive work demeanor and Professionalism at all times

· Enforce and abide by all safety rules and regulations for the continued safety of all residents, staff, vendors and visitors within or around the community.

· Compliance with all policies, rules and regulations outlined in the Human Resources Policy Manual and applicable laws, e.g., Fair Housing, Landlord Tenant, Local Building Codes, OSHA, and EEOC

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent, college and/or trade school preferred

· Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, CPO) strongly preferred

· Two to four years industry experience or related general contract maintenance experience

· Ability to assist in supervision of all Facility Staff and Contractor / Vendors

· Experience in but not limited to: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Appliance Repairs, Hardware Applications, Drywall, Painting and hands on experience

· Knowledge of environmental / industrial hazards as they apply to residential housing

· Available to share “on-call” rotation when requested and respond within a time period specified by Community Management

· Proven organizational and time management skills

· Valid driver license and automobile insurance

· Ability to read, write and speak English and ability to understand spoken English

· General understanding of the Microsoft suite, property management software (ie: Word, Excel, Outlook & Yardi) preferred.
