Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Engineering Support Collaborate the Maintenance Supervisor and Engineering staff to support uninterrupted production.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance programs using CMMS (e.g., SOMAX), and ensure timely repairs and minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot production equipment issues and ensure root cause analysis and long-term solutions are in place.
- Plan and oversee the installation, testing, operation, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.
Project and Technical Management
- Confer with production, QA, EHS, and management teams to determine the scope and requirements of technical or automation projects.
- Coordinate and direct engineering/technical projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with operational goals. Develop detailed plans, resource allocation, and timelines to accomplish project objectives.
- Analyze technology, resource needs, and cost-effectiveness of automation or infrastructure projects.
- Review and approve engineering changes or new designs to ensure risks are assessed and proper controls are implemented.
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety codes, and regulations (e.g., OSHA, NSF).
Budgeting & Contractor Coordination
- Prepare budgets and assess contractor bids and contracts to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage contractor relationships and supervise external work on-site when needed.
Team Leadership
- Support the hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of direct reports and contractors.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Other Duties
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, QA, and EHS.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 6–9 years of experience in maintenance and engineering within food manufacturing or related industries.
- Supervisory experience with cross-functional teams (technicians, engineers, contractors).
- Experience managing small-to-medium scale capital or automation projects.
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, food production systems, and compliance regulations (GMP, OSHA, Cal/OSHA, NSF).
- Proficient with CMMS platforms and technical documentation. Bilingual English/Mandarin required.
