Mechanical Design Engineer - Automotive
Position Overview
Based in north Anaheim, CA, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in the automotive industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing automotive components and systems, ensuring they meet performance, quality, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive components and systems using advanced 3D modeling software.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product specifications and requirements.
- Conduct prototyping and testing of designs to validate functionality and performance.
- Utilize manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability principles to optimize production efficiency.
- Select appropriate materials for design projects based on performance and cost considerations.
- Perform mechanical design engineering tasks adhering to ISO 9001, TS 16949 standards.
- Use SolidWorks for 3D modeling, PDM, and FEA analysis to support design efforts.
- Participate in CNC machining and CNC laser cutting processes to ensure design feasibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in automotive engineering and mechanical design.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software, particularly SolidWorks.
- 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in a CNC environment.
- Strong knowledge of prototyping techniques and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with Design For Manufacturability (DFM) principles.
- Familiarity with material selection for automotive applications.
- Understanding of ISO 9001, 6S, 8D, and TS 16949 quality standards.
- Experience with CNC machining and CNC laser operations.
