Position Summary:
The Estimator will play a critical role in preparing accurate and competitive bids for commercial
construction and telecom projects. This position requires strong analytical skills, field
knowledge, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost,
materials, and labor estimates.
• Develop detailed and accurate take-offs and pricing for electrical and telecom scopes.
• Solicit and review quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Collaborate with project management and operations teams to ensure alignment on
project scope and approach.
• Identify potential risks, value engineering opportunities, and constructability concerns
during the bidding process.
• Maintain and update estimating databases, templates, and historical cost data.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and post-bid reviews.
• Support the hand-off of awarded projects to operations with a clear and organized bid
package.
Qualifications:
• 4–5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating, with a strong focus on
electrical and telecom projects.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and construction documents.
• Strong knowledge of estimating software (such as Sage 100, Bluebeam, or similar).
• Familiarity with labor units, material costs, and installation methods.
• Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
