The Tower Technician II position is the second step of your career in the telecommunications industry. In this role you will be adding to your knowledge base of the industry and sharpening current skills. You will start to learn leadership skills by teaching Tower Tech I employee’s industry standards and sharing lessons learned with the team. Safety training and technical on the job training is continuously provided to ensure the success and advancement of your career at Vasko Electric.
The Tower Technician III position is the third step of your career in the telecommunications industry. In this role you will be adding to your knowledge base of the industry and sharpening current skills. You will need a proficient knowledge base of the industry/customer standards and have sufficient leadership skills by teaching Tower Tech I and II employee’s the industry standards and sharing lessons learned with the team. Safety training and technical on the job training is continuously provided to ensure the success and advancement of your career at Vasko Electric.
Wage range for Tower Tech II $23hr – $25hr
Wage range for Tower Tech III $26hr – $29hr
A typical day in the life of a Tower Tech II would include the following activities:
- Setting the example for those less senior and coaching others by direct teaching of industry standards or through peer accountability.
- Working in public spaces, private owned spaces/property or remote locations such as mountain tops throughout California and Nevada.
- Climb or work from an elevated work platform to heights of up to 300’ to install, maintain and repair telecommunications equipment.
- Reading and understanding documents such a JHA/JSA, material orders, blueprints, RFDS and other site-specific documentation
- Installation of telecommunications ground equipment, power panels, conduit, fiber optic cables, base rock, underground vaults, concrete, rebar, wire and many other items.
- Manual labor activities like digging, lifting items up to 75lbs. rigging, climbing, organizing material, cleaning up trash and standing or hanging in a harness for prolonged periods of time.
A typical day in the life of a Tower Tech III would include the following activities:
- Read and understand all project documentation.
- Lead, support and give direction to the crew while the Foreman is not directly supervising crew.
- Plan and execute the installation of the entire tower top work without direct supervision from the Foreman

About you:
· Have a minimum 1-2 years of industry experience or prove you have the proficient experience of a Tower Tech II or Tower Tech III. Skill assessment will need to be performed.
- OSHA 30 and NWSA Certification (Tower Tech III)
- Clean driving record and valid driver license
- Not afraid of heights
- Attention to detail.
- Arrive on time and ready to work at the start of shift.
- Ability to work overtime when required, travel long distance (company provided transportation) and stay in (Company provided) hotels 90% of the time.
- Self-starter, good at working in small groups and willing to learn on a continuous basis.
- Ability to follow direction and adhere to all safety, company and governing policies/procedures.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Willing to obtain State Electrical Certifications
