The Greenridge Group, a prime contractor and consulting firm specializing in Project and Construction Management is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our team. We deliver fully integrated Program management solutions to both public and private sector clients, including serving as the prime contractor for several public sector clients.
About the Role:
This position is designated to support the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Capital Improvement Program within the Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division. The incumbent will be tasked with overseeing heavy civil, roadway, and structural construction projects, ensuring adherence to relevant standards, safety regulations, and contractual obligations. This presents a unique opportunity to contribute to significant public works initiatives at one of the busiest airports globally, facilitating the delivery of safe and high-quality infrastructure.
*Salary Range: $150K/Year-$160K/Year - Dependent on Candidate's Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect reinforced concrete structures, pile foundations, bridges, and roadways.
- Oversee installation and inspection of sewer, storm drain, street lighting, and traffic signal systems.
- Ensure compliance with Cal-Trans, City of Los Angeles, and County of Los Angeles Standards, as well as the Greenbook.
- Enforce Cal-OSHA safety requirements and LAWA-specific safety protocols.
- Review traffic control plans with a focus on pedestrian safety and routing.
- Prepare clear, comprehensive daily inspection reports, documenting activities, deficiencies, and safety concerns.
- Assist with reviewing and approving contractor monthly progress payment requests.
- Collaborate within a large team of inspectors across multi-phased projects.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience inspecting Cal-Trans bridge, roadway, and structure projects.
- 5+ years (10 years preferred) in public works field inspection, with emphasis on heavy civil and roadway construction.
- Expertise in sewer, storm drain, and utility infrastructure inspection.
- Strong knowledge of traffic control measures and public works construction standards.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in team environments.
Education & Training
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Cal-Trans test method certifications (100, 200, 300, 500 series) desired.
- City of Los Angeles Deputy Inspector Licenses (Grading, Concrete, Post Tension) desired.
- Cal-OSHA 30-hour training (must be completed within 4 years prior to assignment).
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in reviewing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documents.
- Experience using PMIS platforms (PM Web, ProCore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro).
Other Requirements
- Must be able to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime.
- May assume additional duties as needed.
