Job Description

Job Description Align Builders is on a mission to transform the construction experience – bringing people together to build with positivity, discipline, and excellence. We believe that great projects aren’t completed by skill alone, but by heart - driven by strong values, clear communication, and relentless dedication. At Align Builders, we exist to lead—and we’re seeking an Estimator who embodies that mindset. This is more than calculating costs; it’s about guiding the preconstruction process with confidence, clarity, and vision. You’ll influence project success from the start—leading conversations with clients and trade partners, setting clear expectations, and ensuring each project begins on solid ground.

Who You Are:

  • Principled leader who inspires trust and collaboration through humility, integrity, and strong personal values.
  • Owner, not a blamer—quick to take responsibility, slow to assign fault, and committed to finding a way forward.
  • Optimistic problem-solver who stays composed under pressure, views challenges as opportunities, and approaches every obstacle with a solutions mindset.
  • Hungry learner who listens well, adapts quickly, and seeks continuous growth for yourself and your team.
  • Disciplined decision-maker who understands that thoughtful, informed choices create lasting success for the project and its people.
  • Clear communicator who speaks with purpose, listens deeply, and builds strong relationships across all stakeholders.
  • Team-first professional who prioritizes quality, safety, and efficiency while lifting others up and celebrating shared wins.

Essential Functions and Abilities Required:

  • Skillfully interprets and understands the components of a project and builds bid packages to capture all definable features of work.
  • Ability to oversee the pursuit of multiple projects concurrently or engage in a single large project pursuit.
  • Coordinates directly with project architects, designers, owners, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Responsible for managing project information within our estimating outreach software.
  • Can manage and track historical data on past pursuits, as well as maintain current cost data in our databases.
  • Manages and distributes information during the project pursuit/preconstruction process: addendums, ASIs, pre-bid RFIs, preliminary schedules, standard contract documents, etc.
  • Responsible for directly communicating to our clients and trade partners with estimate status and critical issues.
  • Provide support and information to the preconstruction manager to ensure we are meeting the client deliverable dates and providing the specific requests of the RFP.
  • Competency in utilizing our ITB software (Building Connected) and estimating/budgeting software (Destini).
  • Ability to evaluate/level bids received by subcontractors and confidently present the “best value” subcontractor to the client.
  • Assist with estimating hand-off to project teams.
  • Ability to participate in constructability reviews to identify constructability issues, drawing discrepancies, VE options, etc.
  • Support with project start-up and trade procurement.

Education / Experience / Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a construction estimator or project manager.
  • Experience should be in commercial construction, preferably in Health Care (OSHPD), Life Sciences, Higher Education, and Office Improvements.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, construction estimating software (Destini), bid solicitation/management software (Building Connected), project management software (Procore), and scheduling software (Microsoft Project). Experience and skills with OST, Sage/Timberline, Winest and other estimating software are also valuable.
  • Interpersonal skills – ability to engage with clients, internal team members, and trade contractors in a constructive, productive way to overcome obstacles and achieve results.

Compensation/ Benefits / Location:

  • $80,000 to $120,000 Annually
  • 401K, Dental, Medical, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability Mentorship
  • Full-Time
