A full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available within a K-12 school setting, supporting an elementary caseload. This contract role spans the entire school year and is based in Berkeley, CA, with two openings. The position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about contributing to student development through targeted speech and language support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to students under the supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists.
- Implement individualized education plan (IEP) goals related to speech and language.
- Document student progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with school and legal standards.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and parents to foster student communication skills.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of effective intervention strategies.
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant certification or equivalent credential.
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children in a school setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards.
