Our client, a highly-regarded litigation firm in Oakland, is seeking a contract-to-hire litigation paralegal to support attorneys on a hybrid basis in their office (2 days on-site, 3 days remote).
Job Summary:
The firm is seeking a talented Litigation Paralegal to provide critical support to three busy attorneys working on construction defect matters. The ideal candidate will be proficient in eDiscovery, trial preparation, and expert/witness preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- eDiscovery: Manage all aspects of electronic discovery, from initial collection and processing to review and production, ensuring compliance with legal standards and deadlines.
- Trial Preparation: Organize trial materials, prepare exhibits, draft subpoenas, and handle logistics to assist attorneys in seamless litigation readiness.
- Expert and Witness Preparation: Coordinate communication, organize deposition materials, and prepare witness binders to support attorney strategy and case development.
- Case Management: Handle case calendars, monitor court deadlines, and help organize pleadings, motions, and other critical case documents.
- Client Communication: Assist with client correspondence and maintain regular updates on case progress.
- Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in construction defect or related areas.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with eDiscovery platforms (Relativity, Concordance, or similar tools) and case management systems.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and high-pressure situations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with attorneys, clients, and witnesses.
- Education: Paralegal certification or equivalent experience required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
