Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder to join our manufacturing and construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. Duties
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) and TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding on various metal materials, including sheet metal, ductwork, and structural components, following blueprints and schematics.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement instruments to verify dimensions and quality standards.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as press brake machines, plasma cutters, and pipe threading tools to shape and prepare materials.
- Conduct rigging operations safely when lifting or positioning heavy components with cranes or forklifts.
- Apply ASME codes & standards during welding processes to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Assist in mechanical assembly processes, including pipe fitting, soldering, and the use of schematics for complex assemblies.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to construction sites and manufacturing facilities.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication projects, ensuring timely completion while maintaining quality standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction sites or in manufacturing environments as a welder.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding techniques.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, calipers, micrometers, and plasma cutting equipment.
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes such as pipe threading, assembly, and ductwork installation.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential for precise fabrication.
- Experience operating cranes, forklifts, press brake machines, machining tools, and rigging equipment.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards governing welding practices.
- Ability to work safely in dynamic environments while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
