Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Providing essential support in the operating room suite, this role focuses on delivering quality patient care and executing unit support activities aligned with healthcare standards. The position requires a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, regulatory compliance, and a proactive approach to problem-solving within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere strictly to healthcare practices, policies, and ethical standards.
- Maintain all regulatory requirements, including licensing, mandatory training, and certifications within specified time frames.
- Deliver attentive patient care by anticipating needs before and during surgical procedures, assisting with post-operative dressings and cast applications.
- Follow physician preference cards closely to prepare cases.
- Document and communicate critical data such as surgical counts, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
- Update surgeon preference cards as per department protocols.
- Address problems independently to enhance department objectives and patient care quality.
- Participate in additional shifts and undertake responsibilities beyond routine tasks.
- Contribute to process improvements and cost containment through written recommendations.
- Engage in teaching activities within the unit.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Relevant nursing experience in operating room technology or perioperative nursing.
- Familiarity with surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
