Mechanical Design engineers play a crucial role in ensuring the physical integrity, thermal performance, manufacturability, and reliability of the system that is suitable for avionics environment
The core responsibilities and key goals and deliveries are:
Key Skills: “Mechanical Packaging Design” Electro-Mechanical Systems / LRUs, NPD, PCB Keep-out design, “Thermal Management”, Hestsink, “Structural Integrity”, “Dymentional tolerance analysis”, “surface coating”, Unigraphics
Key Skills:
- Accountable for the Design of Engineering design for Electro-Mechanical Systems / LRUs for Aerospace systems in compliance to identified standards like, RTCA DO-160 & MIL Specifications
- New product development and aware of Integrated Electro-Mechanical Product Development process for Aerospace Systems
- Good hands-on experience in PCB design & Box build having good understanding of IPC and ARINC Standards
- Strong knowledge in Thermal Management modes like Natural, forced conviction and Key skills in Identifying the requirement of Hestsink and its Design.
- Responsible for Structural Integrity of the Design to evolve robustness of the system and better understanding about the Key load path and sizing part per vibration requirements
- Individual contributes to product definition considering in weight, layout, Thermal management, Altitude, Humidity, crash and structural constraints.
- Ability to perform Machined and Sheetmetal enclosures with Plastic component and structural design to meet product specifications
- Able to define Aero grade fasteners to meet the joint design & derive torque requirements.
- Ability to define conduct critical tolerance analysis and fit and finish requirements
- Good knowledge of material properties, heat treatment methods and surface coating solutions
- Identify Technical and Schedule Risk and Manages Assessment and Mitigation Plan
Software Knowledge
- Hands on Experience Using Unigraphics Modelling, Drafting & Assemblies
- Have worked on PLM tool and exposure to ARAS PLM added advantage
- Exposure to costing tool or DFMA
