POSITION SUMMARY
The Restorative Nursing Assistant (RNA) is responsible for the planning and implementation of the Resident-Centered Restorative Program for the residents of the Skilled Nursing Facility and Swing beds in the Acute Unit. Under the supervision of the SNF DON and the Physical Therapist plan of care, the RNA will function within the framework, philosophy and policies of Bear Valley Community Healthcare District (BVCHD).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The RNA is responsible for ensuring and providing nursing restorative care to residents so to attain or maintain the highest possible physical, mental, and emotional well-being possible without declines unless the decline is documented as unavoidable. BVCHD is committed to proving care that recognizes each resident’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs beyond the traditional nursing procedures and protocols. The RNA provides Holistic level of care to residents that is designed to strengthen muscles, assist with mobility, promote independence, and prevent functional declines in accordance with BVCHD policies and procedures, evident-based practices and applicable State / Federal regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education (or substitute experience) Required:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification
- Current BLS certification
- Restorative Nursing certification from an approved restorative nursing program upon hire or within six months of hire
Minimum Experience Required:
- Minimum two years of CNA experience required or Certified Restorative Nursing Experience preferred
Skills:
- Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer skills
