Job Description

Foster Display Group is one of the fastest-growing experiential agencies in the U.S., recently named to the 2024 Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies in America list. We specialize in creating custom trade show booths, pop-up experiences, immersive brand activations, and more for major names in gaming, entertainment, pharma, and retail.

We’re a hands-on, fast-moving team of creatives, makers, and problem-solvers—and we’re looking for a Junior Carpenter who’s ready to jump in, learn the ropes, and grow within our fabrication team.

Job Overview

This is an entry-level, full-time position ideal for someone with basic woodworking or carpentry experience who is looking to build a long-term career in scenic or exhibit fabrication. You’ll be working in a collaborative shop environment, helping to build custom pieces for events and experiences across the country.

You don’t need years of experience—but you do need a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work with tools and follow direction. If you’re dependable, mechanically inclined, and want to grow your carpentry skills, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the construction and assembly of custom exhibits, displays, and scenic builds

Read and interpret basic construction drawings and instructions

Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery under supervision

Maintain a clean and organized work area

Follow safety guidelines and shop protocols at all times

Work closely with senior carpenters, project managers, and designers to complete builds on time

Participate in loading/unloading and on-site installations when needed

Learn new skills and grow your capabilities in scenic/exhibit carpentry

Requirements

Some carpentry, woodworking, or fabrication experience (trade school, hobbyist, or previous work)

Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow direction

Reliable, punctual, and a team player

Willingness to learn and take feedback

Comfortable working in a shop environment and occasionally on job sites

Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Bonus Points

Experience in a scenic shop, exhibit fabrication, or trade show environment

Interest in CNC machinery, paint, or finishing techniques

Forklift experience or certification
