We are a dynamic and growing General Contractor with a dedicated Specialty Projects Division focused on commercial tenant improvements and ground-up builds. Our work spans office, retail, healthcare, and mixed-use environments, delivering high-quality spaces with precision and speed. We're seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts and help shape the future of our most agile and fast-paced projects.
Role Overview
As a Senior Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for a wide range of commercial projects, from high-end tenant improvements to ground-up builds. You'll collaborate with project managers, clients, architects, and subcontractors to develop budgets, analyze costs, and support winning proposals. Your expertise will be critical in driving profitability and ensuring project success from the very start.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating process for commercial TI and ground-up projects from concept through bid submission
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and project requirements to develop detailed cost estimates
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing; build strong relationships with trade partners
- Prepare quantity takeoffs, scope sheets, and bid packages
- Develop and maintain historical cost data and unit pricing databases
- Collaborate with project teams to align estimates with construction schedules and logistics
- Participate in preconstruction meetings and value engineering exercises
- Assist in proposal development, presentations, and client negotiations
- Monitor market trends, labor rates, and material costs to ensure competitive pricing
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in commercial construction estimating, with a focus on tenant improvements and ground-up projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage Estimating, Procore)
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
