About the Role

We are seeking a driven and knowledgeable Legal Counsel to support our rapidly evolving business. This is a full-time opportunity to support a wide range of commercial, regulatory, and intellectual property matters in a creative and innovation-driven environment. The Legal Counsel will work closely with internal stakeholders—including product, marketing, partnerships, HR, and executive leadership—to support strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations.


Key Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Strategic Legal Guidance

  • Develop and continuously update legal strategies in alignment with the Company’s business operations and growth objectives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in:
  • Employment and labor law (including global workforce management and HR policy review)
  • Data security and privacy (including GDPR, CCPA, and emerging international privacy regulations)
  • Copyright and intellectual property law (especially in digital and software-related contexts)


Comprehensive Legal Support

  • Advise internal teams on a broad range of legal matters including:
  • Advertising and marketing compliance
  • Antitrust/competition law and pricing
  • Consumer protection and rights
  • Corporate governance
  • Expansion, investments, and M&A
  • IP licensing and procurement
  • Logistics and leasing agreements
  • Public affairs and regulatory frameworks
  • Risk identification, management, and mitigation


Collaboration & Execution

  • Serve as a trusted partner to various departments (HR, IT, Marketing, Product, etc.)
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, policies, and internal documentation
  • Help build and maintain internal compliance and training programs
  • Represent the company in legal discussions with external counsel, regulators, and partners


Qualifications

We Expect You To Have:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree; admitted to practice and in good standing with the State Bar of California
  • Deep, demonstrable knowledge in:
  • Employment/labor law
  • Data privacy law (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Copyright and IP law
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain complex legal topics to non-legal audiences
  • Proactive, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
  • Interest in the gaming, tech, or digital media industry is a strong plus


Even Better If You Have:

  • Experience working in-house or supporting clients in the tech, entertainment, or gaming sectors
  • Understanding of international legal frameworks affecting employment, privacy, and IP
  • Fluency in additional languages is a plus


Additional Information

  • This is a hybrid role based in El Segundo, CA;
  • Current working hours: Monday – Friday, 11am – 8pm Pacific Time (including one-hour break);
  • The estimated base pay range for this role is $80,000 - $120,000/year
