About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Gardena, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Gardena, CA
• Schedule: To be discussed with the family based on mutual availability
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience
• Focus Area: Math, Reading, SEL Support

Ideal Candidate:

• Female tutor (as requested by the family)
• Fluent in both Spanish and English
• Proven experience working with neurodiverse students, especially those with significant developmental delays and behavioral needs
• Strong understanding of ABA principles and techniques
• Ability to create a safe, calm, and engaging learning environment
• Reliable, patient, and able to adapt instructional strategies based on the student's needs
• Experience with SEL and managing frustration-related behaviors in children

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one academic support in early elementary-level math and reading, aligned with the student's current learning needs.
• Implement ABA-informed strategies to manage behaviors and maintain engagement during sessions.
• Incorporate social-emotional learning (SEL) practices to support the student’s emotional regulation and communication skills.
• Adapt instructional methods and materials to accommodate the student’s developmental level and learning style.
• Use a tablet or other preferred reinforcers effectively to encourage participation and task completion.
• Monitor for signs of frustration or overstimulation and proactively provide frequent, structured breaks as needed.
• Maintain a calm, supportive environment that prioritizes safety, consistency, and emotional security.
• Collaborate closely with the family to understand goals, challenges, and preferred strategies for learning and behavior.
• Maintain clear documentation of session activities, progress, and any behavioral observations.
