We are a well established, fast-paced Managed Service Provider (MSP) serving small to mid-sized businesses across the San Francisco Bay Area. We are looking for a Senior IT Engineer to join our team full-time. This role combines high-level technical support, strong customer service, and the ability to lead or contribute to IT projects from planning through execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional service and technical support across client environments, both onsite and remotely
  • Lead or contribute to infrastructure, migration, and implementation projects, including planning, execution, and documentation
  • Manage multiple client environments with a balance of day-to-day support and strategic project work
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to scope, price, and schedule projects
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Identify and escalate business or technical risks as appropriate
  • Maintain and improve client documentation
  • Track tasks, time, and tickets accurately
  • Be available for escalations or emergencies, occasionally outside standard business hours
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff

Core Technical Skills - Required:

  • Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) – Deployment, maintenance, AD, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy
  • Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams) – Administration, migrations, and support
  • Azure AD and Entra ID – User and device identity management, security
  • Google Workpsace – Administration and management
  • Modern Endpoint Management (Kaseya VSA X, Intune, Addigy, JAMF) – Device compliance, app deployment, conditional access
  • Networking – LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, and working knowledge of firewalls (Meraki, SonicWall, Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper)
  • Desktop Support – Windows 10/11, macOS
  • Mobile Device Support – iOS, Android
  • Backup and DR Solutions – On-prem and cloud (Datto, Veeam, etc.)
  • Endpoint Security Solutions (SentinelOne, Datto EDR, Crowdstrike, other)– Deployment and ongoing management
  • Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) and PSA tools (Kaseya VSA, Autotask, etc.)

Nice to have Skills:

  • Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Microsoft Azure infrastructure (VMs, storage, networking)
  • AWS and/or GCP management experience
  • Wireless tech (Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Ubiquiti)
  • Scripting (e.g. PowerShell) for automation
  • Experience with documentation platforms like IT Glue
  • Familiarity with compliance and security frameworks (NIST, SOX, HIPAA, SOC 2, etc.)
  • Experience working in client-facing MSP roles

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT support, including project or consulting roles
  • Previous experience working for an MSP or consulting firm
  • Prior project management or team leadership experience a strong plus
