Position Overview
The Maintenance Manager (Plastics) is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of plastic manufacturing machinery and equipment. This role focuses on ensuring optimal performance and safety standards in the production process while leading a team of maintenance technicians to execute preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies for plastic manufacturing machinery to enhance operational efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor maintenance staff, ensuring adherence to best practices in equipment repair and safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections and troubleshooting on machinery to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
- Manage budgets related to maintenance operations and procurement of spare parts and supplies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in the plastics industry.
- Strong knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes and machinery.
- Experience with electrical, electronics, and pneumatic systems installation and repair.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques related to mechanical and electrical failures.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
