POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
KKCS is seeking a Project Manager II – Low Voltage Special Systems (LVSS) to support the Terminal 5 Renovation & Reconstruction (T5 R&R) Program at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA). This role will serve as the primary IT liaison and owner’s representative, responsible for managing the design, procurement, and execution of IT, special systems, and technology systems within the T5 R&R program. The Project Manager will oversee project delivery to ensure alignment with LAWA’s standards and protocols, coordinating with Information Management & Technology (IMT), airport stakeholders, and design/construction teams to deliver large-scale IT and LVSS systems without disrupting airport or airline operations. This is a full-time, onsite position at LAX with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary IT representative and liaison between LAWA, IMT, design-builders, and contractors.
- Oversee scope development, budget, and schedule management for IT/LVSS systems.
- Develop and manage RFPs, procurement processes, and contractor oversight.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, ensuring inclusion and coordination across large, complex teams.
- Oversee design and construction phases, including field investigations, design reviews, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Manage documentation, reporting, risk assessments, and governance presentations.
- Enforce compliance with contractual obligations, codes, quality assurance, and airport policies.
- Support project delivery through coordination of BIM, CAD, technical submittals, and digital systems integration.
- Ensure safety performance, contract compliance, and adherence to project requirements.
- Provide technical guidance on airport IT and special systems to maintain consistency across LAWA projects.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of project management experience in IT/LVSS, construction management, or related fields.
- Experience with large-scale projects ($50M+ in value).
- Strong knowledge of IT design, construction practices, and contracting methodologies.
- Proven ability to manage project life cycle from design through closeout.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Aviation, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in airport or aviation projects.
- Ability to work in CAD or Revit.
- Familiarity with digital content management systems and airport IT systems.
- Master’s degree and/or relevant certifications (PMP, PE, CCM, AAAE, LEED, AICP) are highly desirable.
