Job Title: Principal Firmware Engineer - Optical Transceiver
Job Location: Santa Clara, CA or Fort Lee, NJ
Compensation: $150K - $250K base Depending on experience plus bonus and stock options!
Requirements: Firmware, Optical Transceivers, Silicon Photonics, Embedded Software, Microcontrollers (MCU)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Firmware Engineer to lead the development of innovative firmware solutions for our cutting-edge optical networking products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded software design and a passion for advancing technology in the Silicon Photonics domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of firmware for optical transceivers and related silicon photonic devices.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to develop and optimize firmware for MCUs and other embedded systems.
  • Drive the architecture and development of scalable firmware solutions that meet performance and reliability requirements.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers on best practices in firmware development.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to define product specifications and ensure successful integration of firmware with hardware components.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in firmware development, preferably in optical networking or related industries.
  • Strong knowledge of Silicon Photonics and Optical Networking principles.
  • Proficiency in embedded software development and programming languages such as C and C++.
  • Experience with designing firmware for MCUs and knowledge of optical transceiver standards, including QSFP.
