Job Title: Experienced Paralegal
Location: Torrance, CA (In-person only – local candidates preferred or must relocate within 60 days)
Job Type: Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $37.00/hour (Depending on Experience; higher for senior-level candidates)

About the Opportunity

A well-established South Bay law firm is seeking an experienced Civil Paralegal with a strong background in trust administration, probate, estate planning, and conservatorships. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Torrance, CA, ideal for someone looking to commit long-term to a professional, collegial legal environment.

The firm offers a stable workload, meaningful client work, and a collaborative team culture. This is not an entry-level position—applicants must demonstrate hands-on paralegal experience in probate and trust-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and manage documents related to trust administration, including correspondence, accountings, and beneficiary notices

• Handle probate cases from petition to final account, including preparation of required court filings, accounting documents, and reports

• Prepare and file conservatorship petitions, notices, and support documentation

• Draft estate planning documents (e.g., wills, trusts, powers of attorney) and coordinate signing appointments

• Coordinate filings, calendaring, and hearing logistics with courts, attorneys, and clients

• Maintain organized and up-to-date client files—both digital and physical

• Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, and case law related to probate and civil litigation when needed

• Work closely with attorneys to ensure deadlines, filing requirements, and procedural compliance are met

• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and third parties on behalf of attorneys

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a paralegal in a civil law firm, with a concentration in trusts, probate, and/or conservatorships

• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program required

• Deep understanding of California probate code and court filing procedures

• Strong proficiency in legal drafting, document formatting, and case calendaring

• High attention to detail, organization, and client confidentiality

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with legal case management software is preferred

• Must live locally or be willing to relocate to the Torrance area within 60 days of hire (relocation assistance not provided)

Work Schedule & Benefits

• Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (In-person only)

• Contract-to-hire with conversion to full-time permanent
