Job Details:
\n
• Work 12-hour shifts starting at 7:00 AM or 7:00 PM
\n• Patient ratios of 1:2 in ICU setting
\n• Work 2 weekends per 4-week period and 2 out of 3 major holidays
\n• Float to telemetry and medical surgical units where patient load increases to 4-5 patients
\n• Travelers are first to float to other units
\n• Dress code requires navy scrubs
\n• Must have strong IV skills as there is no IV team
\n• Read and interpret own telemetry strips using GE monitors
\n• Work with Cerner electronic medical record system
\n• Complete 3-shift orientation: 2 shifts in ICU and 1 shift on another unit
\n• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
\n• Preferred certifications: CCRN, basic critical care course
\n• Must be comfortable with ABCDE bundle and ventilator management
\n• Care for patients with sepsis, DKA, hyperglycemia, COPD, post-cardiac procedures, CVA, and GI bleeds
\n• Manage post-surgical patients recovering in ICU
\n• Work with medications including versed, Propofol, and norepinephrine
\n• BSN degree not required but nursing license verification required

This medical center operates a 20-bed intensive care unit providing Level 2 trauma services in an acute care setting. The facility features 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support, with internal medicine physicians available around the clock and pulmonologists serving as intensivists. The ICU may deploy staff to the emergency department to care for boarded ICU patients when needed. The organization maintains modern equipment including ventilators managed by respiratory therapy and comprehensive cardiac services.
