We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. This role involves supporting complex mechanical systems, leading technical projects, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in developing innovative products and tools that support Phenix Technology’s strategic goals. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a hands-on approach to product development, analysis, and continuous improvement.
- Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Travel: Minimal (25%)
- Pay Range: $85,000 – $120,000 annually (DOE)

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, including milestones, tasks, tollgates, budgets, and timelines
- Conduct engineering analyses such as design reviews, FEA, material selection, and tolerance studies
- Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation (CAD models, drawings, BOMs, test reports)
- Lead prototyping, testing, and evaluation of new designs
- Identify process deficiencies and implement effective engineering solutions
- Ensure products are manufacturable, reliable, and perform consistently in real-world conditions
- Accurately estimate and track engineering hours for internal projects
- Apply strong analytical, conceptual, and critical-thinking skills throughout design and execution
- Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor and support members of the engineering team
- Stay current with industry standards, safety regulations, and emerging technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience
- Experience with polymers, plastics processing, injection molding, and compression molding
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience with engineering analysis tools (SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS, Creo Simulate, or similar)
- Familiarity with mathematical and analytical tools (MATLAB, Excel, LabVIEW, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and provide updates to leadership
- High attention to detail with excellent documentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience designing helmets or firefighting equipment
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
- Expertise in injection-molded plastic component development
- Hands-on experience with CAE and CAM
- Experience leading or mentoring an engineering team
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, waste reduction, continuous improvement)
- High integrity, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills
