LHH has partnered with a great firm who is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced IP Defense Paralegal to support our legal team in high-stakes intellectual property litigation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in defense-side litigation, particularly in patent, trademark, or copyright disputes, and will be comfortable managing complex case files from inception through trial.
Key Responsibilities

Manage case files from initiation through mediation, arbitration, trial, and settlement

Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including correspondence, pleadings, agreements, and discovery responses

Prepare subpoenas, deposition notices, and document production requests

Coordinate and prepare attorneys for depositions and expert witness engagements

Conduct legal research and assist in vetting subject matter experts

Monitor litigation deadlines and ensure timely filings

Prepare trial materials including notebooks, exhibit lists, witness lists, and trial binders

Assist with trial presentation setup and exhibit management using tools like TrialDirector, TrialPad, or PowerPoint

Investigate facts and compile medical/legal chronologies as needed

Attend trial proceedings and provide on-site paralegal support when required
Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in IP or commercial defense

Strong understanding of federal and state court procedures

California eFiling
-
Proficiency in legal research platforms (e.g., LexisNexis, WestLaw)

Experience with litigation support software (Relativity, TrialDirector, etc.)

Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

Paralegal certificate or equivalent legal training preferred

Salary: $85,000 - $105,000
