PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE II
SUMMARY:
Reporting to theDepartment Supervisor, the Production Associate 2 is responsible for providing support in the functional areas of assembling electrical or electro-mechanical components in various products. This may include being responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or subassemblies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This is an on-site position, no remote work available.
- Mandatory overtime may be required during high volume periods.
- Reads work instructions and calculates basic addition and subtraction when required.
- Confers with engineering, technical and manufacturing personnel regarding assembly procedures.
- Manipulates tools and equipment to assemble components and systems.
- Utilizes tools like microscopes, hand tools, razor blades, syringes, soldering equipment, adhesive bonding materials, and various machinery.
- Follows approved work instructions to perform wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and/or cable harnessing on assembly units.
- Monitors quality and quantity of assembly output and maintains required production records.
- Uses digital voltmeter and temperature probes and other assigned measurement instruments per appliable work instructions.
- Must have the ability to create and maintain productive working relationships within the work team and with other functions. Collaborates with peers to achieve shared departmental goals.
- Communicates effectively with co-workers and customers, both verbally and in writing.
- Expected to provide feedback on production and methods, product design issues, continuously strives to improve product quality and operational efficiency.
- Performs daily work using Good Manufacturing Practices and following company procedures.
- Participates in physical inventory counts.
- Records proper backflushing levels for inventory control.
- Examines products to verify conformance to specifications; and performs rework when necessary.
- Performs good material management practices by communicating part shortages and identifying non-conforming products.
- Completes MRB and NCR processing in accordance with approved procedures.
- Proficient on more than 3 products or 2 or more specialty stations
- Specialty stations may include but are not limited to final tests, laser alignment, and microscope assembly.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Requires a high school diploma or the equivalent and 5-10 years electro-mechanical assembly experience. Vocational instruction and/or proven ability to work from established drawings, performing soldering, wire-wrapping and cable harnessing is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
