Position Overview
The Wildfire Defense Systems Installer / Crew Technician plays a critical role in CitroTech’s field operations. In this role, you will:
- Install CitroSafeTM tanks, pumps, rooftop sprinkler systems, piping, and related components
- Interact professionally with homeowners, builders, and project managers
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite
- Travel across California for multi-day installations (as needed)
- Uphold our standards for workmanship, communication, and customer experience
This role blends elements of construction, light plumbing, electrical, digging/trenching, irrigation/pump work, and basic carpentry. We provide training on all CitroTech systems, methods, and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Field Work
- Install and configure wildfire defense system components (tanks, pumps, rooftop sprinklers, piping, valves, hose runs, etc.)
- Perform trenching, digging, mounting hardware, anchoring systems, and sealing penetrations
- Run plumbing lines (PVC, HDPE, copper depending on system) and electrical wiring for pumps
- Test and verify system operation
- Follow installation checklists, system drawings, and QC/QA procedures
Customer Interaction
- Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners and site contacts
- Set expectations and explain basic system functions and operation
- Represent CitroTech professionally on high-end residential and commercial properties
Safety, Quality & Jobsite Management
- Maintain safe working practices and adhere to all OSHA and company safety requirements
- Keep jobsites clean, organized, and protected
- Document installations through photos, forms, and daily job logs
- Assist with loading trucks, staging materials, and maintaining tools and equipment
Travel
- Travel throughout California for installations (company-paid travel, lodging, and per diem)
- Adapt to changing schedules based on weather, fire season, and customer needs
Required Qualifications
- Strong work ethic; dependable, punctual, and professional
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work outdoors in varying conditions
- Basic experience in any of the following areas:

- Plumbing / irrigation / construction / landscaping
- Pumps or pressure systems
- Electrical (low-voltage preferred)
- Carpentry / mounting / drilling
- Comfortable interacting with customers at high-end residential properties
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
- Experience installing or servicing pumps, irrigation systems, water tanks, or sprinklers
- Experience on construction sites or in mechanical service work
- Ability to read simple plans/drawings
- Any knowledge of wildfire behavior, defensible space, or WUI (Wildland Urban Interface) concepts (training provided)
