We are seeking a Legal Case Manager to join our dynamic and growing team. This hybrid role (part remote, part in-office in Los Angeles) is ideal for a highly organized professional who can coordinate case activity, manage deadlines, and support attorneys across multiple practice areas. Compensation:
$30 - $40 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Manage and track litigation and municipal enforcement cases, including pleadings, discovery, hearings, and court deadlines.
- Coordinate with attorneys, clients, experts, and municipal staff to gather case materials and maintain organized case files.
- Draft and proofread correspondence, declarations, and other legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Monitor court filings, hearing dates, and case management orders in state and federal courts.
- Maintain Clio case management records, task lists, and client communications; upload and index documents to SharePoint.
- Support municipal nuisance abatement and code enforcement matters by coordinating communications with inspectors, city departments, and outside counsel.
- Prepare summaries, reports, and timelines for active cases.
- Assist with billing entries, task tracking, and cost-recovery documentation.
- Contribute to process improvement and automation using Microsoft Power Automate and AI-driven tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; paralegal certificate or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 3 years of legal experience, preferably in litigation, municipal, or regulatory practice.
- Proficiency in Clio, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and Power Automate (or a willingness to learn).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Professionalism, discretion, and a commitment to teamwork.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with government agencies or public entities.
- Familiarity with California court rules, filings, and local procedures.
- Bilingual proficiency (Mandarin, Cantonese, or Spanish) is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted legal research or automation tools.
- Experience in managing and tracking litigation and municipal enforcement cases, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with attorneys, clients, and municipal staff to gather and organize case materials.
