The CNC Machine Programmer is responsible for creating, editing, and optimizing CNC programs to produce precision parts efficiently and accurately. This role works closely with engineering, machinists, and operators to ensure programs meet design specifications, quality standards, and production timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and modify CNC programs for milling and/or turning operations.
- Interpret blueprints, CAD models, and engineering drawings.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds.
- Optimize programs to improve cycle times, quality, and tool life.
- Support CNC operators with setup, troubleshooting, and program adjustments.
- Perform first-article inspections and ensure parts meet specifications.
- Maintain program documentation and revision control.
- Follow safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of CNC programming experience (mills and/or lathes).
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM).
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tooling, and machining processes.
- Experience with multi-axis machines is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
