A California K-12 school in Petaluma is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a contract position covering a maternity leave. This role offers an engaging opportunity to work with a diverse caseload within a supportive educational team.

Position Details:

  • Contract length: Early February through the end of the school year
  • Work schedule: 5 days per week, approximately 7 hours per day
  • Caseload: Currently 56 students, primarily general education TK-5 students, with SLPA support two days per week
  • School sites: Single elementary campus
  • Collaboration: The caseload is divided between this role and another SLP serving the Special Day Class (SDC) population
  • Open to: Candidates with SLP certification including CFY, CCC are welcome to apply

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current California SLP credential or certification
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children in a general education setting
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and support staff
  • Familiarity with supporting diverse communication needs and individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • CFY candidates encouraged to apply, with support provided

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement speech and language interventions for a caseload of K-5 students
  • Conduct evaluations and progress monitoring in alignment with district guidelines
  • Partner with teachers, parents, and support personnel to optimize student communication and academic success
  • Utilize SLPA support efficiently to maximize service delivery
  • Maintain thorough documentation and comply with all reporting standards
