A California K-12 school in Petaluma is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a contract position covering a maternity leave. This role offers an engaging opportunity to work with a diverse caseload within a supportive educational team.
Position Details:
- Contract length: Early February through the end of the school year
- Work schedule: 5 days per week, approximately 7 hours per day
- Caseload: Currently 56 students, primarily general education TK-5 students, with SLPA support two days per week
- School sites: Single elementary campus
- Collaboration: The caseload is divided between this role and another SLP serving the Special Day Class (SDC) population
- Open to: Candidates with SLP certification including CFY, CCC are welcome to apply
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current California SLP credential or certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in a general education setting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and support staff
- Familiarity with supporting diverse communication needs and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- CFY candidates encouraged to apply, with support provided
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement speech and language interventions for a caseload of K-5 students
- Conduct evaluations and progress monitoring in alignment with district guidelines
- Partner with teachers, parents, and support personnel to optimize student communication and academic success
- Utilize SLPA support efficiently to maximize service delivery
- Maintain thorough documentation and comply with all reporting standards
