Job DescriptionDirector of Nursing ($5,000 Sign-On Bonus) - Overview

The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing and managing nursing services within a skilled nursing environment, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to regulatory standards. This position entails supervising nursing personnel, collaborating with various care teams, and ensuring the smooth operation of health facility services. Applicants must possess a valid RN license, have prior managerial experience, and demonstrate strong clinical and administrative capabilities.

We are currently looking for a Director of Nursing (DON) to join our Health Center team. In this role, the DON will plan, direct, organize, and assess nursing services to fulfill the comprehensive needs of our residents. This position requires ensuring efficient operations of the health facility in collaboration with other departments while complying with state and federal regulations. The DON will also provide care aligned with our commitment to “Person-Directed Care.”

** Salary Range: $135K-$160K (Dependent on Experience) plus performance-based incentives ** $5,000 sign-on bonus! **

Key Responsibilities of the DON include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting daily rounds to monitor residents and confirm that staffing levels adequately meet their needs;
  • Ensuring that all necessary nursing care is delivered in the Skilled Nursing environment;
  • Engaging with residents, families, and staff to address inquiries, provide guidance, and offer support;
  • Managing admissions and discharges within the Health Center, coordinating with acute hospitals, assisted living, and independent living staff;
  • Overseeing nursing and management personnel, including scheduling, hiring, training, and performance evaluations; addressing team member concerns;

Qualifications for Success in this Role:

  • Graduation from an Accredited Licensed Nursing Program (RN)
  • Active California RN License
  • Current CPR certification
  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of managerial experience in a related field
  • Exceptional clinical observation and assessment abilities
  • Proficient in computer skills for documentation, electronic health records review, and team communication
