Salary: $120k-$150k DOE
Requirements: BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering & 5+yrs exp in CNC Programming and operation, CAD/CAM OR HS Diploma and Vocational Training & 10+yrs exp in CNC Programming and operation, CAD/CAM
Position Overview
The Senior CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC programs for advanced machining operations. This role focuses on ensuring high-quality production of machined components by leveraging expertise in CNC programming and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for vertical mills, lathes, and other machining tools.
- Conduct machine setup and operation to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing engineering team to improve production workflow and equipment utilization.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure operational efficiency.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation to create accurate machining programs.
- Select appropriate tools and materials for machining operations considering quality control and precision measurement standards.
- Implement safety standards and best practices in all machining activities.
- Train and mentor junior CNC programmers and machine operators on CNC programming and machine operation techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience and Vocational Machine Tooling Program
- 5+ yrs experience as a CNC programmer
- Strong skills in CNC programming and machine operation, specifically with vertical mills and lathes.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, particularly SolidWorks, Esprit, and Hypermill.
- Familiarity with G-Code programming and blueprint reading.
- Experience with 4-axis and 5-axis machining operations.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively.
