Pay : $200-$230/hr
*This position is located at the Monterey County Jail in Salinas, CA..*
We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team and provide best patient care to youth within the correctional environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality mental health care to patients and contributing to their overall well-being as well as work and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
-Work with Health Services Administrator and Mental Health Director in the coordination of mental health care delivery system
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients as well as follow up and chronic care appointments
- Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to individual youth needs
- Provide education to youth about their treatment and ensure comprehension
- Manage crisis situations effectively via conducting risk assessments and determining appropriate level of care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Stay current on advancements in psychiatry and behavioral health practices
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification in Psychiatry
- Valid state medical license to practice as a Psychiatrist in the state of California
- Proficiency in psychopharmacology
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective patient care
- Experience in crisis management and behavioral health interventions
