Description:This is a 2nd shift positions: 1:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

In-process inspection of fabricated sheet metal parts and assemblies at various stages of the realization process. Ability to work well in a dynamic and quick-moving environment. The Inspector shall apply comprehensive knowledge to perform visual and precision mechanical measurement on first piece inspections and as a “roving Inspector,” spot checking in-process parts for conformance to requirements. The Inspector will perform this work by following established drawing and router requirements, plus work instructions and procedures. The difference between Inspector A and Inspector B is experience and expertise. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Inspector A can complete essential duties without any assistance Inspector B requires some assistance to complete essential duties Must be very reliable, quick to learn, and a self-starter Maintain accurate records of inspection activities, as required Assist with manufacturing floor surveillance of manufactured product Perform basic first piece inspection of in-process and final product Follow documented procedures and coordinate activities while providing continuous support to other departments Support QMS program by following approved policies and procedures Perform other related duties as assigned by the Quality Manager Read and interpret engineering drawings Maintain clean work area (apply 5S principles) Examine layout and installation of manufactured units, subassemblies, and hardware components to detect assembly errors Confirm documents to ensure that all assembly, inspecting, and testing steps were performed according to specifications Use testing and inspection equipment including calipers, micrometers, vision systems, toolmakers, height gauges, pin gauges, and other special-purpose inspection tools Understand and use statistical and standard AQL sampling plans Read and interpret engineering drawings, inspection specifications, router instructions, and QA/Mfg instructions May need to support customer source or production requiring the inspector to work through normal break times and lunch to accommodate customer/production needs EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Minimum: HS diploma and certificate; degree from technical school required. AA or equivalent technical training and/or relevant experience is a plus Experience in manufacturing/production a plus Familiarity with ISO9001:2015/AS9100, ANSI 14.5, and statistical process control preferred
