Position Summary:
- The Permitting Technician provides administrative support to the Permitting Program Manager and Permitting Administrator by assisting with the ongoing run- and-maintain functions of the Permitting Office.
- This role is focused on internal operations, including the assignment of tasks, tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs), and management of digital and physical permit file archives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides administrative assistance to support the day-to-day operations of the Permitting Office.
- Assigns and tracks tasks as directed by the Permitting Program Manager and Permitting Administrator.
- Collects, monitors, and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to permit processing and turnaround times.
- Organizes, updates, and maintains permit file archives in both digital and physical formats.
- Prepares internal reports and documentation to support operational transparency and efficiency.
- Performs other administrative duties as directed, focused on maintaining operational consistency.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors or equivalent (required).
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in administrative or operational support roles.
- Prior experience with permitting systems or municipal operations (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong administrative and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow structured workflows and meet deadlines.
- Experience with data tracking and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, dashboards).
- Familiarity with digital file management and document control practices.
- Comfortable working in a support capacity with minimal direct public interaction.
- Ability to take direction and work independently on assigned tasks.
Working Conditions:
- Office-based role with extended periods at a computer.
- May involve access to records storage or archive locations.
- Limited to no public-facing duties.
The hiring rate for this position is $25.00 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity, and may also vary depending on candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience amongst other factors.
