About the Role

VTOOBE is an early-stage platform bringing avatars and AI into live streaming. We’re hiring a contractor who can deliver a working real-time streaming MVP with face-tracked avatar overlay. The front end is already built — we need you to bring the streaming engine to life.

What You’ll Build

Set up real-time video streaming (WebRTC or RTMP) from webcam or virtual cam
Implement face/pose tracking (MediaPipe, OpenCV, or similar)
Overlay a 2D/3D avatar in sync with facial expressions (Canvas, WebGL, or Three.js)
Connect avatar + stream output to YouTube/Twitch/RTMP endpoints
Collaborate with the founder + frontend dev to test and polish MVP

Core Skills

Strong in JavaScript/TypeScript
Hands-on with real-time video streaming (WebRTC, ffmpeg, OBS, etc.)
Experience with face tracking (MediaPipe, TensorFlow.js, etc.)
Skilled in avatar rendering (Canvas, WebGL, Three.js, or Ready Player Me)
Ability to ship fast, using AI tools like Cursor or Copilot

Nice to Have

Familiarity with Ready Player Me, DeepMotion, or other avatar pipelines
Experience with Twitch overlays, VTubing, or Chrome extensions
Interest in avatars, hip hop, or creative streaming culture
