LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant / Soft Tissue Practitioner to fill a temporary position working on a government contract.
Location: Moffett ANGB, California
Job Description:
The Physical Therapy Assistant / Soft Tissue Practitioner (PTA/CMT) provides preventative maintenance, rehabilitation of injured personnel, assists with performance enhancement, and referrals to next level medical care if needed. The PTA/CMT will assist the Physical Therapist with initial evaluations after injury occurrence, initiate individual rehabilitation programs, and establish records for all personnel for the PT review and approval. The PTA/CMT will employ corrective exercise instruction for Airmen as well as manual therapy and treatment modalities. Additional prehabilitative services will be provided to individual Airmen to decrease the likelihood of injury/re-injury and to reinforce foundational biomotor abilities for performance enhancement. The PTA/CMT will also assist the PT and Strength Coach (SC) with designing an overall healthy lifestyle education program.
Requirements:
- Must be a Certified Physical Therapy Assistant through a nationally accredited program and hold a valid CA PTA license.
- Must be a Certified Massage Therapist.
- Must have at least three (3) years of relevant work experience in the collegiate/professional athletics or Special Operations Forces (SOF) settings.
- Must have direct patient care experience in a sports/orthopedic setting.
- Must have experience providing treatment modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, vasopneumatic compression devices, heat/cold, and more.
- Must be able to provide soft tissue treatments that can include Active Release Therapy (ART), Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Myofascial Decompression (Cupping), and others.
- Must be able to carry out individualized therapy plans designed and approved by the PT.
- Must be able to utilize government owned electronic database systems to document daily treatments.
- Ability to assist strength and conditioning testing and training protocols.
- Must be capable of meeting physical demands of training including the ability to observe Airmen training evolutions in all required skill sets to include boat party, drop zone, and austere field conditions.
- Must be able to maintain PTA/CMT Licensure by complying with continuing education requirements.
- Possess current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Must be a U.S Citizen
- Must have the ability to operate a computer utilizing Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel.
- Ability to lift and manipulate loads/weights up to 20 kilograms (44 pounds).
Desired:
- Possess oral and written communication skills to meaningfully interact with peers, outside agencies, vendors providers and Military Health System (MHS) stakeholders to provide briefings, presentations, research, and develop metrics to demonstrate or advance effective and efficient injury/pain prevention.
Expected Pay: $45.28 per hour.
