About the Role Capstone Roofing is seeking a hands-on Production Manager to lead our residential roofing field operations. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day production, safety, and quality across all residential roofing projects, withCrew Foremen and field teams reporting directly to this position. This leader will ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to Capstones quality standardswhile serving as the primary bridge between production, safety, scheduling, and leadership. The ideal candidate is a proven residential roofing operator who can lead crews, enforce safety, and keep jobs running on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
Field Operations & Residential Roofing Execution
- Lead and manage all residential roofing field operations, including tear-offs, installs, repairs, and punch-list completion.
- Directly oversee and coachCrew Foremen, holding them accountable for productivity, quality, safety, and jobsite leadership.
- Ensure crews are properly staffed, trained, and equipped for each job.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, and scheduling to maintain production efficiency.
- Monitor job progress, resolve field issues, and ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Partner with production, sales, and office teams to ensure smooth job handoffs and execution.
Safety Leadership & Compliance
- Enforce Capstone Roofings safety policies and procedures across all job sites.
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections and SPOT safety checks.
- Ensure full compliance withCal-OSHA, manufacturer guidelines, and company safety standards.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead ongoing safety training, toolbox talks, and field safety coaching.
Training, Leadership & Performance Management
- Train, mentor, and develop Crew Foremen and field teams on installation quality, safety practices, and leadership expectations.
- Evaluate crew and foreman performance and provide actionable feedback.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and ongoing training efforts in partnership with HR and leadership.
- Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and safety-first execution.
Quality Control & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure all roofing work meets manufacturer specifications, building codes, and Capstone quality standards.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, production, and quality outcomes.
What Youll Bring
- 5+ years of hands-on residential roofing experience, including field operations and crew management.
- Strong understanding of roofing systems, installation methods, manufacturer specifications, and building codes.
- Proven experience leadingCrew Foremen and field teamsin a production environment.
- Strong safety leadership mindset with working knowledge ofCal-OSHAstandards.
- Bilingual communication skills (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- OSHA 30 or equivalent certification preferred.
- Valid drivers license and ability to pass post-offer background check, drug screen, and DMV review (per insurance requirements).
