About the Role
We’re seeking an Equipment & Automation Engineer to join our rapidly scaling manufacturing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and wants the freedom to innovate across hardware and production systems. You’ll work hands-on to develop, test, and optimize equipment used in producing high-precision cast components, playing a critical role in the advancement of our factory’s capabilities.

What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and qualify custom production equipment for casting operations
- Support production by diagnosing and resolving equipment-related issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine processes and boost reliability, throughput, and yield
- Experiment with equipment parameters and materials to improve performance and scalability
- Work directly with suppliers and vendors to prototype, source, and validate hardware components
- Integrate material science innovations into hardware workflows through hands-on testing
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in mechatronics, mechanical systems, or related field
- Background in high-growth tech or hardware startups strongly preferred
- Proven experience managing vendors and moving designs into production
- Familiarity with SLA 3D printing, ceramic processes, heat treatment, and precision casting
- Understanding of high-volume or aerospace manufacturing (AS9100 compliance a plus)
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline — or demonstrated exceptional ability through projects or competition teams (e.g., Formula SAE, Baja, Rocketry)
- Solid understanding of industrial hardware components and control systems, including microcontrollers, motion systems, fittings, and connectors
Compensation:
$90K-$140K/ base + equity
