Summary:
A commercial mechanical contractor is seeking a Service Project Engineer to support the technical coordination and administrative workflow on large-scale commercial MEP projects. This role supports Project Managers while working closely with engineering, purchasing, construction, fabrication, and field teams. It’s a strong fit for candidates looking to build a long-term career path in mechanical construction with exposure to estimating, scheduling, procurement, and design-build processes.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist Project Managers with coordination between accounting, purchasing, engineering, construction, fabrication, and other internal departments

Support procurement efforts including scope review, pricing, submittals, and delivery coordination

Help plan work activities, track labor, monitor material deliveries, and review project cost projections

Handle daily administrative tasks such as RFIs, submittals, document control, purchase orders, procurement logs, and daily reports

Participate in kickoff meetings, job walks, progress meetings, foreman meetings, and OAC meetings

Collaborate with installers, subcontractors, and suppliers to provide direction and maintain project expectations

Assist in resolving installation or design challenges in the field

Monitor schedule progress and escalate project issues that require attention from leadership

Support relationship-building with clients, trade partners, subcontractors, and suppliers
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or 3–5 years of industry experience

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Strong organization and time-management abilities

Ability to work closely with Project Managers and field teams

High integrity, professionalism, and willingness to learn

Ability to follow instructions and handle fast-paced project environments
