Job DescriptionRole and Responsibilities:
Full Time position performing Network and TELECOM installation and maintenance at Port Hueneme, CA. Primary responsibilities include fiber and copper cabling, rack and equipment installation, termination testing and troubleshooting and system integration. May also support electrical and related technical tasks as required. A Secret clearance is required.
Position Qualifications:
• Must have trade school, technical certificate or associates degree in electronics plus 3 years of technical experience or no degree and a minimum of 5 years of technical experience.
• Must be able to perform installation and integration and support repairs at land-based facilities.
• Must be able to support mechanical, electrical, network, cabling projects.
• Must be able to certify on scissor lift, boom and aerial lift.
• Must be able to troubleshoot fiber and CAT6 cabling.
• Must have basic cable/fiber splicing knowledge.
• Must have experience with RJ45.
• Must be able to install and route cabling.
• Must be able to work under general supervision independently or as a team member in completing various repair and installation/integration projects.
• Must be able to conduct post testing of equipment/cabling/fiber installed.
• Must be proficient with common hand and power tools.
• Should have basic computer Microsoft Office skills (i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, data entry).
• Have a valid driver’s license with own transportation.
• Must have no criminal record and able to satisfactorily complete background check.
• Must be able to work under direct supervision, perform and complete tasks with direct guidance.
• Able to follow company policies and procedures.
• Able to write, speak and understand English and able to write clear, detailed reports.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with US Navy network and TELCOM systems.
• Experience with RJ45 T568A/B Standards• OSHA Safety Certification
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to climb up and down the vertical ladders.
• Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
• Ability to work in tight spaces.
