Certified Litigation Paralegal – Woodland Hills
This is a temporary position to start but has the ability to turn into full time employment.
A well-established defense litigation law firm in the Woodland Hills area is seeking an experienced Certified Litigation Paralegal to join its legal team. This role plays a key part in supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The firm values teamwork, attention to detail, and professionalism, and offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-level litigation matters.
Position Overview
The Certified Litigation Paralegal will provide comprehensive litigation support, from case inception through trial and post-trial proceedings. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting billable hour requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-claim investigations and initial case assessments
- Draft, file, and manage pleadings, motions, and appellate documents
- Perform legal research and maintain organized case files
- Organize and manage pleadings, discovery indexes, and case-related documentation
- Prepare exhibits, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Assist attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
- Act as a liaison between trial teams and external parties
- Support attorneys with trial preparation, hearings, and settlement negotiations
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a Certified Litigation Paralegal in a law firm with billable hour requirements
- Certification: Paralegal certification required (must be provided prior to hire)
- Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery, motions, and court rules
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in WordPerfect, Excel, Outlook, E-copy, Westlaw, automated forms, and e-filing systems
- Skills: Excellent written communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Work Style: Self-sufficient, proactive, and able to thrive in a team-oriented environment
- Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $32–$40 per hour (commensurate with experience)
