Position Overview
We are a top national firm seeking a dedicated Associate to join our San Diego Labor & Employment team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter that has 2+ years of L&E experience and will assist in providing legal support and representation to clients in various employment-related matters. This role is hybrid with an expectation of 3 days in office.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in labor and employment litigation, including preparing legal documents and conducting research.
- Represent clients in federal and state court regarding employment law matters.
- Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests.
- Draft motions for court, as well as attend hearings.
- Provide legal advice on wage and hour laws, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) compliance, and other employment-related issues.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and assist in trial preparation.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Barred in CA
- 2+ years of experience in labor and employment law, preferably in litigation defense.
- Experience in both federal and state court and with federal and state agencies.
- Able to draft discovery and motions
- Manage case up to trial
- Nice to have: Wage-hour laws, FMLA
