RRE is a commercial electrical contractor operating in Northern California. We specialize in light commercial and commercial construction, including restaurant, retail, multifamily, and storage projects. With more than 90 team members and continued growth planned, we are building strong systems, leaders, and standards to support long-term scale and profitability
Position Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution, financial performance, and client satisfaction of assigned electrical projects from turnover through closeout. This role owns project budgets, schedules, documentation, and communication while supporting field team members and upholding Team RRE standards. This position requires strong leadership, financial accountability, clear communication, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced, growing construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Financial Management
- Own full responsibility for assigned project budgets, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
- Review job cost reports and labor hours at least twice per week
- Forecast job costs and final margins accurately
- Identify risks early and take corrective action to protect profitability
- Price, submit, track, and manage change orders
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Scheduling & Execution
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
- Coordinate manpower planning with superintendents and foremen
- Ensure work progresses according to project phases and deadlines
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and production issues proactively
Field Team Support
- Maintain strong communication with superintendents and field team members
- Ensure crews have approved drawings, materials, RFIs, and clear direction
- Support productivity while reinforcing safety and quality standards
- Uphold the Team RRE standard of 100% clean and organized jobsites
Client & General Contractor Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and general contractors
- Lead job meetings, calls, and coordination efforts professionally
- Communicate proactively and clearly—no surprises
- Build long-term relationships; we have clients, not customers
Submittals, RFIs & Documentation
- Manage and track:

- Lighting submittals
- Gear packages
- RFIs
- Change orders
- Closeout documentation
- Ensure approvals are received before procurement or installation
- Maintain organized and accurate project files
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work complies with:

- NEC requirements
- California codes and regulations
- Company standards
- Promote a safety-first mindset on all projects
- Exercise emotional control and professionalism under pressure
Reporting Structure & Authority
- Reports directly to: Operations / Leadership
- Works closely with: Superintendents, Field Team Members, Accounting, and Executive Leadership
- Has authority to:

- Enforce project standards, schedules, and documentation requirements
- Hold teams accountable to budgets, timelines, and communication standards
- Escalate risks and recommend corrective actions
- Recommend process improvements and system changes
Success in the First 90 Days
- Projects are organized, clearly scheduled, and actively managed
- Labor hours and budgets are reviewed consistently and accurately
- Change orders are identified early and processed promptly
- Communication with field teams, clients, and leadership is clear and proactive
- Leadership has confidence in project visibility and financial control
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Projects completed at or above target margins
- Labor hours maintained within budget
- Timely submission and approval of change orders
- Client satisfaction and repeat business
- Field team feedback and jobsite organization
- Accuracy of job forecasting and reporting
Required Qualifications
- Commercial electrical construction experience (project management preferred)
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, and job costing
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of organization and accountability - Proficiency with project management and estimating software preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial electrical contracting
- Experience managing multiple fast-paced projects
- Understanding of California construction requirements
- Experience working in a growing company with evolving systems
