Job DescriptionEstimator Senior Estimator
Position Overview
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for overseeing and managing the estimating process for commercial construction projects. This role involves preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and ensuring accuracy in bids. The Senior Estimator will collaborate closely with the project management team and stakeholders to secure profitable bids and support overall project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects
- Review and analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope and requirements
- Lead the bidding process, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with client needs
- Utilize On-Screen Take Off and other software tools for accurate measurement and quantity takeoffs
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and negotiate bids
- Maintain and update the estimating database with historical cost data
- Provide support during the bidding phase by preparing and presenting estimates to stakeholders
- Ensure all estimates align with project budgets and timelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating
- Proficiency in commercial estimating software and On-Screen Take Off
- Strong knowledge of hard bid and private bid processes
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
