Are you a motivated, detail-oriented aspiring law student looking to build a strong foundation for a career in Family Law? Our firm is seeking two Family Law Clerks who are eager to learn, grow, and be mentored in all aspects of the practice.
A summer law clerk position at Minyard Morris will offer:
Training & mentorship:
- Work directly with experienced attorneys committed to teaching you the why behind the work.
- Feedback and professional development support.
Exposure to real life examples from cases in family law, involving issues including:
- Custody & visitation
- Spousal & child support
- Domestic violence issues
- Division of property
Hands-On legal experience, including:
- Client communication
- Drafting pleadings
- Communicating with opposing counsel
- Preparing discovery requests and responses
- Trial preparation and organization
- Deposition preparation
- Managing case files and deadlines
Professional development outside the office
- Network, build professional relationships, and represent the firm at Orange County Bar affiliate events
A successful applicant will have:
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Professionalism, Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time-management
- The desire and ability to actively participate in meetings, ask questions and be proactive
- Completed Family Law or Community Property Course
- Enthusiasm and commitment to the program and family law as a career
