Position Overview
The Traveling Superintendent is responsible for overseeing construction projects at various locations while ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This role involves managing on-site personnel, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise construction projects from start to finish at multiple sites
- Ensure compliance with construction schedules and budgets
- Coordinate activities with subcontractors and suppliers
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of work
- Implement and enforce safety protocols on site
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including daily reports and progress updates
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients and upper management
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Ability to travel frequently to various job sites
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience in commercial and retail construction projects is a plus
- Knowledge of ground-up construction and shopping centers is preferred
