Position OverviewThe Phlebotomist / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the front-line representative for patients, delivering high-quality blood collection and specimen preparation services. This role emphasizes patient trust, accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism while supporting both clinical and forensic specimen collection.Key Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection safely and accurately, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and compliant work environment.
- Complete required records and documentation with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience (required)
- Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Keyboarding and data entry proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments
Licensure & Certification
- California Phlebotomy License required
- Phlebotomy certification required in CA, NV, and WA
Work Environment
- Patient Service Center and clinical settings
- High-volume workflows with changing daily priorities
