A middle school in San Jose, CA is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join their team for a contracted school year (CSY) position. This role involves providing speech and language services tailored to the needs of middle school students, either through in-person sessions or teletherapy.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), including Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates
- Certified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) credentials with experience either in school or healthcare settings
- Familiarity with teletherapy platforms to deliver remote services effectively
- Strong understanding of middle school student needs and developmental communication goals
- Ability to assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans in compliance with educational guidelines
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments and evaluations for middle school students
- Develop and implement personalized therapy plans to address speech, language, and communication challenges
- Provide both direct therapy and consultation services to students, educators, and families
- Utilize teletherapy tools as appropriate to maintain service continuity
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports following school and legal requirements
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success
