Direct Counsel is seeking a Patent Prosecution Associate Attorney to join a leading Am Law 100 firm. This is an opportunity to work on groundbreaking technologies for top-tier clients while collaborating with legal practitioners who are leaders in intellectual property law. You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to some of the world’s most innovative companies, combining deep technical knowledge with sophisticated legal expertise.
What You’ll Do:

Draft and prosecute patent applications with a focus on chemical engineering, petroleum engineering, and petrochemistry.

Provide strategic IP counseling to clients across industries.

Collaborate with an elite team of attorneys to support cutting-edge innovations.

Conduct in-depth analysis of complex scientific and legal issues.

Work closely with clients and colleagues in a highly collaborative environment.
What We’re Looking For:

PhD in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Petrochemistry, or relevant industry experience.

Minimum of 2 years of experience as a patent prosecution attorney.

Active state bar membership and compliance with CLE requirements.

USPTO registration required.

Superior writing skills and excellent academic credentials.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Compensation & Benefits:

Salary range of $235,000 – $365,000, commensurate with experience (adjusted for flex-time schedules).
